ITS publishes first full year of metrics

Beginning in early 2017, ITS began publishing and regularly updating a set of metrics to monitor IT performance on campus.

Modern monitoring tools and platforms enable ITS to track hundreds of systems and performance indicators on a daily basis. The Metrics Page was created to convey high-level, important performance indicators across the central ITS organization. Given the highly-technical nature of what the organization tracks, the Metrics Page is also designed to provide information that is understandable to the general public.

“Our goal is to provide anyone on campus that is interested in learning more about the reliability and performance of our services the ability to quickly see that information,” said Chris Kielt, Chief Information Officer.

The metrics are updated on a monthly basis and reviewed annually to ensure that the most helpful metrics are being shared with the UNC-Chapel Hill community.
